Governor Cox orders flags to be lowered in honor of Memorial Day
SALT LAKE CITY (May 27, 2023) — Utah Governor Spencer J. Cox has mandated that the flags of the United States of America and the great state of Utah be flown at half staff over all state facilities in recognition of Memorial Day.
Flags are expected to be lowered to the half-mast position at 00:01 on Monday 29 May 2023 and remain at half-mast until 12:00 the same day. At noon, flags should be raised at the position of all personnel.
Governor Cox extends his invitation and encourages individuals, businesses and other organizations to lower their flags at mid-staff as well.
